The National pripremili masovnu kompilaciju posvećenu bendu Grateful Dead
Kompilacija posvećenu stvaralaštvu benda Grateful Dead pod nazivom “Day of the Dead” koju su osmislilia braća Aaron i Bryce Dessner iz sastava The National, biće objavljena 20. maja za 4AD/Beggars (Lampshade Media za Srbiju) a sav prihod od prodaje ići će za borbu protiv AIDS-a humanitarnoj organizaciji Red Hot.
Za Aarona i Brycea, Grateful Dead ima životno značenje. Muzika Grateful Deada bila je njihov “izgovor” za zajedničko >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu BalkanRock.com << muziciranje kao i prva muzika koju su braća najdublje istraživala.
Životna povezanost za Deadovim, rođena u tinejdžerskim danima dosegla je vrhunac kad je The National pozvan da svira na humanitarnom događaju HeadCount.org u martu, 2012. Bend je za ovaj događaj naučio preko 24 pesama benda Grateful Dead a najveći broj muzičara koji su učestvovali na tom događaju, sada su učestvovali i na projektu “Day of the Dead”.
Kompilacijom se ukazuje čast muzičkom stvaralaštvu i eksperimentarisanju Deada, za njeno stvaranje bilo je potrebno četiri godine snimanja a učestovalo je preko 60 izvođača iz različitih muzičkih žanrova. “Day of the Dead” ima 59 pesama i traje skoro 6 sati. Kompilaciju su producirali Aaron Dessner sa Bryceom Dessnerom i Joshom Kaufmanom.
Sav profit od prodaje ide humanitarnoj organizaciji Red Hot u cilju borbe protiv AIDS/HIV. Ovo je 20 album koji je do sada producirala Red Hot organizacija. Za 25 godina, preko 500 umetnika, producenata i reditelja dala je svoj umetnički doprinos ovim albumima. Prethodno izdanje iz 2009. pod nazivom “Dark Was The Night” sakupilo je preko 1.5 miliona dolara do danas.
