Serbia’s Vucic honoured to meet Russia’s Putin

Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic said on Monday he was honoured by the opportunity to meet his Russia’s counterpart Vladimir Putin next week in Moscow, the Beta news agency reported.

Vucic held a meeting with the Russian ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Chepurin ahead of his trip to Moscow.

The two also discussed the strategic cooperation in energy and infrastructure which would be on the agenda of the forthcoming session of the Joint Committee for Cooperation >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << between Serbia and Russia.

Vucic said he expected the encounter would have a great significance for an improvement of the relations between the two countries, a statement from his cabinet said.

Vucic and Putin last met also in Moscow in May.

Putin was reported to have planned a visit to Serbia in November, for the Remembrance Day parade. In the meantime, French President Emanuel Macron invited Vucic to attend the celebration on the November 11 in Paris.

Putin was in Belgrade for a military parade in honour of the liberation of Belgrade in WWII, in October 2014.
