Mojsilovic replaces Dikovic as Serbian military chief
The Serbian Armed Forces got a new chief of staff on Friday when Lt Colonel General Milan Mojsilovic was appointed to replace General Ljubisa Dikovic.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic told a news conference after his meeting with Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin and the military chiefs that he had “accepted General Dikovic’s request to retire”.
“I accepted Dikovic’s request to retire and I want to thank him for his honourable service to Serbia, he honourably, >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << heroically and bravely opposed the NATO aggression. I thank him for the job he did seriously and responsibly,” Vucic said and added that he had awarded the general with the Order of the Karadjordje star which he said is the highest decoration that any military personnel received.
Vucic said that he had signed a number of decrees appointing and dismissing military personnel following consultations with the defence minister and his staff.
Lt. Colonel General Milan Mojsilovic takes over as chief of staff from the post of assistant defense minister in charge of defence policy which he held since June this year. He headed Serbia’s military mission with NATO between 2013 and 2017 and chaired the international advisory group at RACVIAC centre for security cooperation. He is a graduate of the Military Academy, Command Staff School and School of National Defense. He completed a course at the European College for Security Studies.
Mojsilovic held the post of operations chief in the Army of Serbia Operational Forces Command, deputy commander of the General Staff Joint Operations Command and commander of the Land Forces.
Mojsilovic was born on August 3, 1967 in Kosovska Mitrovica. He is married with one son.
