'No agreement with Pristina without a comprehensive package'

An agreement between Belgrade and Pristina that does not include a “comprehensive package” that includes economic help for Serbia, is out of the question, President Aleksandar Vucic told reporters at a press conference on Saturday.

“I am not an optimist in regard to an agreement,” Vucic said.

“If you think that an agreement without a comprehensive package, without additional economic help for Serbia, without a dramatic increase of growth in Serbia and without >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << a comprehensive package that would concern our future is possible, I don’t even consider telling you such a thing,” he added.

He said he is of the opinion that Serbia has presented a good platform in the negotiations on Kosovo.

“Above all, the interest of our people in Kosovo and Metohija is important. Whether this is realistic, I wouldn’t say, but whether it is realistic without a comprehensive package, it is impossible, as Serbia will not agree,” he said.

Vucic recently told Reuters in an interview that, in order to reach an agreement, Serbia should be given clear guarantees that it will join the European Union.
