NATO's Marinelli: Two NATO exercises in Serbia this year
Serbia will host two multinational exercises under the NATO's auspices this year, the Chief of NATO Military Liaison Office Belgrade Cesare Marinelli has said on Saturday.
Speaking at a workshop for media representatives in Serbia, organized by the Defense Ministry's Public Relations Office, Marinelli said that one of the exercises dubber “REGEX” will be of regional character while the second one will focus on reactions in extraordinary situations.
Marinelli >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << emphasized that the last year NATO trained 1,250 members of the Serbian Army, which took part in 20 exercises under auspices of the alliance.
According to Mladen Stojadinovic, a representative of the Ministry's Department for the International Military Cooperation, more than 150 activities were conducted in cooperation with the NATO during 2017, of which 51 took place in the country and 127 abroad.
Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs of Serbia Branimir Filipovic noted that the NATO clearly said it respected the military neutrality of Serbia, a partner country not planning to become a member of the alliance.
