FM Dacic: Croatia trying to rehabilitate Ustasha ideology
Serbia's Foreign Affairs Minister Ivica Dacic said it was clear that the ruling elites in Zagreb were persistently trying to rehabilitate Ustasha ideology and that the latest proof of that was the exhibition in the Croatian Parliament where some Ustasha symbols were presented.
Dacic told Belgrade daily newspaper Vecernje novosti that the Ustasha salute 'For homeland, ready' was displayed in the Croatian Parliament, adding that a parliament is one of the metaphors of every >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << country's government.
The statement came as a reaction to the exhibition in the Croatian Parliament ahead of Vukovar Remembrance Day, November 18, where one of the paintings displayed showed a French soldier wearing a badge with the Ustasha salute Dacic mentioned.
He added that he was not surprised by lack of reaction of Croatia's leadership but that the European Union (EU), by keeping silent about this, is practically amnestying an anti-European and anti-civilisational act.
Dacic stressed this “shameful” act should be seen as if someone displayed a painting with the swastika symbol and “Sieg Heil” Nazi salute in the German Bundestag.
