Foreign Minister of Serbia said on Tuesday that there was no danger the European Union would reintroduce the visa regime for Serbia’s citizens even though Belgrade abolished visa for the third countries’ natives.

Ivica Dacic told the Vecernje novosti daily that the EU was not concerned about the migrants, but Kosovo.
‘”They do not worry about the visa abolishment but about the process >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << of the withdrawal of Kosovo’s independence recognition by an increasing number of states,” Dacic said, inviting the EU to present data on an increasing number of migrants since Serbia abolished visas for some countries.
The EU has for the first time warned Belgrade about abolishing visas for the third countries' citizens, expressing concern that that policy could make the fight against illegal migrations more difficult.
The issue would be on the agenda of the forthcoming meeting of the EU heads of states or governments in Luxembourg.
Dacic said that the “Brussels concern was a bit hypocritical,” adding that ‘if there is an abuse of the visa regime revoke, Belgrade will immediately react with countermeasures,” i.e., introduce visas for the EU citizens.
“Where a million migrants came to Serbia from but from the EU… they entered the region through Unions’ external borders,” Dacic said.
EU abolishes visa requirements for Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia in December 2009.
