Reciprocal measures customary, Serbian FM says
Serbian Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic told N1 that reciprocal measures are customary practice in diplomacy.
"Reciprocity is the mother of diplomacy,” Dacic said adding that US President Donald Trump uses that measure. “Reciprocal reactions are everywhere,” he said.
Asked about the possible recall of the Croatian ambassador from Belgrade, the Foreign Minister said that everything Serbia did was forced. “We feel no satisfaction but we are forced to do this. >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << We are prepared to react to any new steps,” Dacic said.
He said that Croatia has gone down the wrong path, adding that Serbia is reacting because that is a diplomatic rule. According to Dacic, Serbia is prepared to back down the moment that Croatia lifts what he said are senseless measures against Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin.
“This is not the path we should be taking but if someone wants to take that road we have to react reciprocally. I hope that reason will prevail and that we will continue down the road of good neighbor cooperation, the road set by Kolinda Grabar Kitarovic and Aleksandar Vucic", Dacic said.
The Serbian government responded to a Croatian government decision to ban Serbian Defense Minister Aleksandar Vulin from Croatia with a ban on his Croatian counterpart Damir Krsticevic who told N1 that the decision was unjustified.
