International law dead, Serbian defence minister says

International law died when NATO bombed Serbia without UN Security Council approval, Defence Minister Aleksandar Vulin said at the Beijing Xiangshan Forum on Thursday.

A Defence Ministry press release quoted him as saying that most of the security threats facing Europe today have been caused by the unipolar world “in which force is its own justification, leading to the death of international law”.

The minister >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << said that everyone who wants to remain free should oppose the unipolar world. “The southeast Europe region, and most of the world, is affected by Islamic fundamentalism, the migrant crisis and the restoration of a unipolar mentality and all our problems can fit into a single sentence – the death of international law,” Vulin said at a panel discussion on international security.

Vulin also voiced opposition to Kosovo’s membership in Interpol. “How could Interpol maintain its reputation if it shares information on drug dealers with Pristina where the most powerful narco clans come from? All of you who have recognized Kosovo as the consequence of force should think again because what has been done to my country can be done to you. Once force becomes the law you won’t know when it will be used against you,” Vulin is quoted as saying.

According to the ministry press release, the Serbian Defence Minister was invited to the forum by his Chinese counterpart. The forum was first launched by the China Association for Military Science (CAMS) in 2006 and is held once every two years.
