President Vucic reacts to EU statement
President Vucic reacted sharply to a statement by EU spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic voiced surprise on Tuesday (April 10) over a statement by European Union spokeswoman Maja Kocijancic about the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) in Kosovo.
Media in Belgrade and Pristina reported earlier that Kocijancic said the CSM would be formed in line with the laws of Kosovo. President Vucic told the Serbian state radio TV (RTS) that >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << the Brussels Agreement which was signed by Belgrade and Pristina does not say the CSM would be formed under Kosovo laws. “I want them to show me where the Brussels Agreement says that, I know it by heart, its on the web sites of the government, the president, the office and it does not say that anywhere,” he said.
Vucic said the CSM would be formed in line with the Brussels Agreement, its principles and its implementation plan. “The only good thing about this is that you have shown the people in Serbia what the Brussels negotiations are,” he said.
Pristina insists that the CSM has to be in line with the laws of Kosovo while the Serb List Kosovo Serb party and the Serbian government want it formed under the 2013 Brussels Agreement. The Serb List has said that it would form the CSM on its own if the authorities in Pristina don’t start drafting a statute for that municipal organization by April 19.
