EU helps strengthen Judiciary Academy
The European Union has helped establish European standards in the Serbian judiciary and strengthen the Judiciary Academy allowing the country’s population quicker and better access to justice, participants in the closing conference of an EU project said.
The project was launched to support Serbia in the implementation of reforms under Chapter 23 of the pre-accession negotiations, EU Delegation chief Sem >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Fabrizi told the conference titled Strengthening Educational Activities and Promoting the Organizational Capacities of the Judiciary Academy.
“The Judiciary Academy is crucial to promoting the independence and quality of the judiciary. The EU will continue supporting it. We need to see the real influence of the project and require added and increasingly strong efforts in future. The training of judges and prosecutors is of great importance. Training is crucial for an objective, unbiased and competent judiciary,” Fabrizi said.
Justice Minister Nela Kuburovic and State Prosecutor Zagorka Dolovac were invited but did not attend the conference, choosing to send their deputies instead.
