Technical dialogue stopped, Kosovo PM says
The technical part of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue has been stopped because the two sides can’t agree on what comes first, Kosovo Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj told MPs on Thursday, the KoSSev portal reported.
Speaking in the Kosovo Assembly, he said that Pristina insists on the implementation of an energy agreement while Belgrade wants the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) formed first.
“We >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << felt that it was useless to sit at table when the energy agreement is not item number one,” he said, adding that Belgrade and the European Union want to rewrite the agenda and make the CSM the top priority.
“We have had some not so pleasant correspondence with the mediators in the dialogue and are waiting for future developments,” the prime minister said.
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has denied that an energy agreement exists under the Brussels agreement which delegations from Belgrade and Pristina signed during the dialogue under European Union auspices.
Haradinaj said the energy market situation in northern Kosovo is unbearable, adding that Pristina has to confirm its control over energy production in all of Kosovo.
“The Serbian side has not implemented the energy agreement. It’s clear that they are getting 30 million Euro out of this. We cannot tolerate the situation indefinitely,” the Kosovo Prime Minister said in answer to questions from MPs about the government decision to allocate funds to the KOSTT power company to cover losses due to unpaid electricity bills in northern Kosovo.
