Church rejects accusations against Bishop Teodosije
The Eparchy of Raska-Prizren said that Bishop of Teodosije did not undermine the efforts of the Serbian President and the Government to preserve Kosovo as an integral part of Serbia.
The Eparchy added that the division of Kosovo, recently mentioned in the media, is not only a political issue for the Serbian Orthodox Church, but above all an issue concerning the destiny of tens of thousands of faithful >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << and the most important sacred sites belonging to the Church.
They pointed out that in his appeal, the Bishop never undermined the Serbian President and the Government’s efforts to preserve Kosovo as an integral part of Serbia because it goes without saying that the duty and the obligation of those in power is to preserve the Constitutional order and the territory of the country and to protect the citizens of the Republic of Serbia, but also to warn against the possible consequences which could follow in a situation where the people and its preservation are threatened.
The Eparchy noted that it is completely unacceptable for them to enter into a media quarrel which was initiated by irresponsible accusations against the bishop the same day when his appeal was published.
Speaking about the division of Kosovo, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said that Bishop Teodosije is against ethnic borders, but that he wants the "non-existent state of Kosovo" to pay EUR 650,000 to the Church.
