Head of Serbia’s intelligence: BIA prevents foreign attempts

The head of Serbia’s Security-Informative Agency (BIA) said on Wednesday that his service successfully prevented different threats to the country in the last year, the Beta news agency reported.

Speaking at the ceremony marking the BIA Day, Bratislav Gasic said the agency did everything to preserve peace and stability in the region and at the same time protect the state and peoples’ interests.

“In intensive cooperation with other state institutions in the last year, we successfully confronted terrorism and separatism, illegal migration, different kinds of extremisms and foreign cover-up attempts as well as the organised crime and corruption,” Gasic said.
