DIKA STOJANOVIC REVEALS AFTER 25 YEARS: I didn’t save the penalty by mistake in Bari! (VIDEO)
The most important trophy in club football, the Champions League trophy, was presented today in Belgrade Barutana at Kalemegdan, during the "Tours of the Champions League" , which is presented by "UniCredit Bank".
Belgrade Mayor Sinisa Mali, the legendary Brazilian footballer Cafu, captain of Red Star champions from Bari Stevan Stojanovic, former Partizan midfielder Mustafa Hasanagic, a member of the team that played the 1966 >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Telegraf.rs << final of the European Cup and the President IO Unicredit bank Ihas Chila, with the anthem of the Champions League, they revealed the people gathered the "eared trophy", which for the third year in a row is coming to Belgrade.
The most valuable trophy arrived to Serbian capital on 25th anniversary since the Red Star has became a champion on Europe, when Stojanovic in Bari lifted a trophy after the victory over Marseilles after penalties 5:3 (0:0), and half a century from the finals between Partizan and Madrid Real (1:2) in Brussels.
- Belgrade had the honor for three years, and over 25.000 people took a picture next to the cup, from total of 600.000 visitors from only 14 countries. This is a nice promotion for our tourism, city promotion, but also one more proof how much Belgrade is connected to sports. I would like to thank "UniCredit bank" which brought this trophy to Belgrade, and to our guest Cafu. I hope we will have more events like this - said Sinisa Mali on the press conference in Barutana.
One of the best right wing players in the history of football Cafu was honored because he came to Belgrade on the promotion of the Champions league trophy.
- I take the role of the ambassador of this prestigious event very seriously and i am happy to have the opportunity to reveal this magnificent trophy, especially because people live for football in Serbia - said Cafu.
Stevan Stojanovic remembered the game with Marseilles on the stadium St Nikola and the decisive detail when he saved the penalty.
- It wasn't accident, i took evidence of almost all the players where they shoot their penalties. I knew where Amoroso is shooting, the last three times he shoot at the goalkeeper's right side and i waited till the end. I didn't want to go for it earlier so he doesn't decide to change sides- said popular Dika.
The representative of "UniCredit Bank" Chila pointed out that she is very proud that her company has the opportunity to present the trophy to the people in Belgrade.
- It is my great pleasure to have the exclusive right to present the trophy. It is a symbol of passion and all that motivates us to become winners.
Tour of Champions League is held for the eight time, and next to Serbia, it will be in only four more countries. Previously, the trophy visited Nis, Subotica and Novi Sad, and now it will be in Belgrade for two more days, tomorrow on the Square of republic and in Shopping center Usce on Sunday.
Tour of the trophy will be in Serbia till 2nd October, and then it will continue its journey through Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia and Hungary.
