Vucic: No stick will make me listen to Kosovo’s madnesses
Just a day after he said the Belgrade delegation had no any pre-conditions for a new round of talks with Pristina in Brussels, Serbia’s President told reporters he was considering whether even to go to the Belgian capital.
Vucic said on Thursday he would talk to Pristina’ representatives only “if they are ready to compromise and implement the Brussels agreement.”
He said he suggested to Serbia’s representatives in Brussels it might be better if he didn’t >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << come.
"I called people in Brussels last night and told them we should not waste time if Albanians' stands are like those (recently expressed by high ranking Kosovo’s officials) and that I perhaps should not come,” Vucic said.
“They told me – please do come to talk,” he added.
Vucic said he had no problem in talking to them (the Albanians) but that he was “not fascinated with some of their ingenious ideas” nor was he “afraid of anyone in the West.”
“You picked up a wrong man to pressure. I said I did not have a problem to talk, but do you think that there is a stick which will make me listen to (Kosovo’s President Hashim) Thaci’s, (Deputy Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Rexhep) Hotti’s or (Kosovo deputy Prime Minister Enver ) Hoxhaj’s statements and madnesses,” Vucic asked.
He referred to the Kosovo officials' statements about their expectations from the forthcoming Belgrade – Pristina dialogue on June 24 in Brussels in which they agreed that Serbia’s recognition of Kosovo’s independence was a must.
In his latest statement, Thaci said that the dialogue was entering its final phase and that the topic of the negotiation would be the definition of borders between the two neighbouring countries as Pristina saw Kosovo and Serbia.
Also, Hoxhay told the Kosovo parliament on Wednesday that "as for the UN and the Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM), my view now and in 2015 was to merge it all into one big agreement which will normalise Kosovo-Serbia relations. The forming of the CSM should run in parallel to a seat in the UN.”
Those statements came on the same day when Vucic said Belgrade delegation's only task was to protect the interests of its people.
