Illegal employment drops in Serbia in first half of 2018
In the first six months of this year an inspection covered 8,000 more employers than in the same period in 2017, and found 20 percent less illegal workers, an official said.
Stevan Djurovic, the acting head of the Ministry of Work and Employment’s Directorate, told the “Say no to an illegal employment” workshop, held in the southern town of Vranje, over the weekend, that over 22,000 people worked without being >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << registered last year, the Beta news agency reported.
After the inspection, he added, 94 percent of them got permanent contracts.
Djurovic said that the highest number of those illegally employed came from accommodation and food services, construction, trade, textile, leather and shoe industries.
He said his Directorate had started 91 procedures against the employers in the first six months of this year.
