Serbian Minister, Church elder discuss monasteries

Serbia’s Culture Minister and the head of the Serbian Orthodox Church visited two monasteries in southern Serbia and discussed their restoration.

A press release said that Minister Vladan Vukosavljevic and Patriarch Irinej visited the St. Nicholas and Holy Mother of God monasteries outside the town of Kursumlija on the 850th anniversary of their construction.

The minister is quoted as saying that the restoration of those monasteries, which are the legacy of Serbian >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << medieval king Stefan Nemanja, will be one of the ministries’ priorities.

The Minister and the Patriarch said that a restoration project should be started as soon as possible, the press release said.
