Number of tourists in Serbia rising in 2018
In the first five months of this year, over 1.2 million people visited Serbia, or 11 percent more than in the same period in 2017, the country’s Tourist Organisation said on Monday.
According to the Republic Statistics Bureau, out of a total of 1,239.205 registered tourists 683,750, or nine percent more, were locals, while the remaining 555,455, or a rise of 14 percent, were foreign guests.

Domestic tourists frequented the mounts of Zlatibor and Kopaonik, and spas in Vrnjacka Banja and Sokobanja.
The foreigners also visited the two mountains but preferred the capital Belgrade and the northern city of Novi Sad.
An increase of 12 percent was also registered in the number of overnight stays which totalled 3,365.005 in the January-May period.
