Belgrade official: Arifi’s words mean no to CSM
The head of Serbia’s Government Office for Kosovo Marko Djuric said on Thursday that the statement by chief of the Pristina negotiating team that the demands by the Managing group for drafting the statute of Community of Serb Municipalities (CSM) were “insane” meant there wouldn’t be the CSM.
Reacting to Avni Arifi’s words that the Group’s requests were “unacceptable and insane,” Djuric said he could offer his Albanian colleague all the European Union’s >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << relevant documents to see that all those demands were there and agreed upon, the Beta news agency reported.
The Pristina Koha Ditore daily reported that one of the Managing Group’s request was a change in Kosovo’s constitution to enable the executive powers to CSM.
The establishment of the CSM was agreed by both Belgarde and Pristina, as well as by the EU. The process started in 2013 but has been closer to its end.
The document should honour the Kosovo constitution and some EU documents.
Speaking about the CSM earlier this week, Arifi said that “Kosovo’s government tasked a working group with drafting a CSM statute in April. The deadline was August 4, and we still don’t know if the draft was sent to Brussels.”
