Pristina daily boycotts President Thaci
Pristina’s daily Koha Ditore published on its Thursday's front page it cut all official contacts with Kosovo’s President Hashim Thaci after he accused the newspaper of siding with Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic, the FoNet news agency reported.
The daily asked Thaci what his reaction would be if Vucic used the same arguments for the Kosovo north (populated by ethnic Serbs) as Thaci did when spoke about the Presevo Valley (inhabited by ethnic Albanians)?" >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija <<
The president responded: “I don’t speak in Vucic’s name as you and you media do.”
Koha Ditore editorial board said they would not communicate with Thaci and his cabinet unless they publicly apologise and withdraw the statement.
The paper said it would report from the events where Thaci might be present if they were in the public interest, but would not carry interviews, comments, and statements the president gave to other media.
Kosovo’s journalists’ association also criticised Thaci, saying his statement endangered the professional integrity of the reporters and media.
