Kaspersky may come to Serbia

Serbia’s Minister for Innovation and Technological Development said on Monday that Russian Kaspersky Lab was interested in doing business in his country, the Beta news agency reported.

Kaspersky Lab is a multinational cybersecurity and anti-virus provider headquartered in Moscow and operated by a holding company in the United Kingdom. It employs 4,000 workers and has over 400 million users worldwide.

>> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << />Minister Nenad Popovic met with Kaspersky’s bosses in Moscow and told them that Serbia had “excellent young programmers and the best school of engineering in southern Europe.”

His Russian hosts said the company planned to visit Serbia and meet the representatives of the state institutions, the private sector and the country’s universities to explore the possibilities of its future business in the country.

“Highly qualified engineers are our key development resource in attracting foreign investors in the IT sector,” Popovic said.

He added that the cybersecurity was significant for every country and that “the arrival of the Kaspersky Lab in Serbia would have a lot of benefits."

“On top of new jobs for our young engineers, they would have an opportunity to learn from the Russian experts, which could make Serbia the regional centre for the software development in the cybersecurity,” Popovic said.
