German, Serbia's police to improve cooperation
Serbia’s Interior Minister and his German counterpart met on Monday to discuss the improvement of the countries' cooperation in internal affairs, including illegal migrations, Belgrade Beta news agency reported.
Nebojsa Stefanovic and Stephan Mayer, the Federal Ministrer of the Interior, Building and Community, talked about how Serbia’s police could be more effective in stopping the illegal migrants on their way to the European Union countries.

“We will continue to cooperate with Germany in that area,” he added.
Stefanovic said that Germany was an important partner in fighting all kinds of organised crime.
Mayer thanked Serbia for its contribution since 2015 in preventing illegal migrations, adding he was optimistic regarding further collaboration.
He said that substantial progress had been made in preventing human trafficking and arms smuggling and that good cooperation between Serbia’s and Germany’s security services had been established in fighting organised crime, especially in drug-related cases.
Mayer also said that Serbia could count on Germany’s support on its road to the EU.
