Serbians think relations with US are bad
A quarter of the citizens of Serbia feel that US-Serbian relations are very bad, the Beta news agency reported on Thursday citing data collected by the Belgrade-based Institute for European Affairs.
The poll showed that while 40 percent of Serbians believe those relations will get better a fifth think that they can never improve. On a scale of 1 to 5, with 5 being the top mark, the polled citizens of Serbia gave an average grade of 2.27 to Serbia’s relations with the US.
>> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << />A little less than half of the people polled said that it’s important for Serbia to maintain good relations with both the US and Russia. A majority said relations with the US were best while Josip Broz Tito ruled Yugoslavia and reached an all-time low when Serbian and Yugoslav President Slobodan Milosevic was in power.
Most of the people polled have no idea about US donations to Serbia despite the fact that America is the second biggest donor after the European Union, the Institute said.
The poll was conducted in cooperation with the Ninamedia polling company in the second half of March and covered 1,203 adults.
