Kosovo's Serbs: Don’t reject any topic in Brussels talks
The head of Serbia’s Government Office for Kosovo and local Serbs discussed political and security situation in Kosovo, the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue and the importance of coordination between local leaders and republic’s institutions, the Beta news agency reported on Wednesday.
The representatives of the Serb List, only Kosovo’s Serb political party, supported by Belgrade, suggested to Marko Djuric >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << that, bearing in mind the long-term interests of Serbia and Serb nation in general, the negotiators should not reject any topic in the Belgrade – Pristina dialogue.
Djuric pointed out the need for the coordination between Belgrade and the Serb List’s representatives in Pristina’s institutions to be able to strengthen the political and diplomatic capacities for the defence of Serbia's state and national interests.
The Serb List’s leaders expressed their full support to Serbia’s President Aleksandar Vucic and the country’s government in their efforts to find a compromise solution that would guarantee the survival and progress to the Serbs in Kosovo.
The next phase of the European Union-facilitated Belgrade - Pristina dialogue continues with a meeting of Serbia's and Kosovo's presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci respectively, at the beginning of September.
That will be the third meeting of the final part of the dialogue, which is expected to be concluded by the legally binding agreement on normalisation of relations between Serbia and Kosovo.
The foreign representatives involved in the dialogue asked for intensifying of the talks until a final solution is reached by the spring next year.
Earlier on Wednesday, Serbia's President Aleksandar Vucic said he believed that a division of Kosovo, one of the ideas for the final agreement, would not be allowed. Pristina is vehemently against the partition.
One of the other options is the exchange of territories, but neither side says it is plausible.
