Vucic expects Macron in Serbia this year

Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday that he expects his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron to visit Serbia in December.

Speaking after a meeting with French Senator Olivier Cadic, Vucic said that Macron’s visit would be very important for Serbia, adding that trade between the two countries is rising.

The president said Cadic is devoted to peace in the Balkans. “We spoke about how good it would be for everyone in the Balkans if we had long-term peace >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << and stability which would allow for a better life and economic development,” he added.

Cadic said that the resolving of differences between Serbia and Kosovo is of crucial importance for the stabilization of the Western Balkans and Serbia’s European prospects.

“France believes it is up to both sides to reach an agreement through talks and by looking at all possible options which could lead to a solution and reinforce the stability of the region,” the French senator told a joint news conference, adding that it is in the interest of both Belgrade and Brussels for Serbia to become a European Union member as soon as possible.
