Vucic at economic forum, meets China's PM
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic has taken part in the opening of the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting of New Champions in the Chinese city of Tianjin, the Serbian state TV (RTS) said on Wednesday.
Vucic met with Chinese Prime Minister Li Keqiang at a government residence later and was greeted with the Serbian words dobro dosli (welcome), the Beta news agency reported. The Serbian president said he was told by Li that their two countries are “eternal friends” and that >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << China would like to see an independent and strong Serbia in future.
The RTS report said that Vucic met with Hebei provincial Governor Xu Qin and representatives of the HBIS Group which owns the steel plant in the Serbian town of Smederevo. Governor Xu is quoted as saying that his provincial government and HBIS will do everything they can to make sure the steel plant operates well.
Vucic and Xu discussed possible future projects, including the construction of an industrial zone in Belgrade. Two memoranda of understanding were signed between the Hebei and Serbia governments and with the HBIS Group.
