Serbia’s Army Union tells EC president their rights violated
The Army of Serbia union (VSS) has written to the President of the European Commission (EC) Jean-Claude Junker accusing some members of Serbia’s Government of “most serious violation of the international conventions,” the country’s constitution and laws, the Beta news agency reported on Monday.
The VSS said in a statement that “in the letter to Junker, we reported the cases of persecution of the union's leaders, the disrespect of the international conventions and the European >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Social Charter which guarantees labour, civil and human rights.”
The statement added the VSS also specified the examples “of the crimes involving some Government’s members which are harmful to citizens, European and Serbia’s order.”
The VSS asked Junker to take all measures within his jurisdiction to “sanction the violation of the international rights,” and to protect “the victims of such treatments by the authorities.”
