Serbian ministers aren’t answering MPs questions

The Serbian government did not reply to any of the 236 questions posed by MPs between November 2017 and August 2018 at parliament sessions, the Open Parliament said in its report on the state of democracy in Serbia.

Members of the government were present at MPs question time only twice in that period, in March and April 2018, the report said and added that this is a violation of the rules of parliament.

The domination of the executive over the legislative authorities >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << is also evident in terms of draft laws since the government submitted more than 95 percent of all draft laws, it said.

According to the report, none of the draft laws submitted by the opposition were adoped. The report is part of a Belgrade Open School project focused on civil society contributions to Serbia’s accession to the European Union.
