Serbian president meets IMF, World Bank officials
Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with the head of a delegation of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank’s regional director for the Western Balkans on Thursday both of who said that Serbia is reporting good economic results thanks to reforms.
IMF delegation chief James Roaf told Vucic that Serbia has recorded good fiscal results thanks to difficult reforms, a statement said and added that they “concluded that Serbia will be the country with the best economic >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << position in the Western Balkans early next year”.
They said that the IMF insists on a reform of the salary system in the state administration and added that they will invest joint efforts in implementing reforms.
World Bank Regional Director Linda Van Gelder said that Serbia has set an example as a country which has successfully implemented economic reforms following the worst situation in the country’s economic history.
She is quoted as saying that the World Bank will analyze Serbia’s growth model at the macro, sector and micro levels with the aim of continuing economic reforms.
The World Bank will work with the Serbian government to improve the competitiveness of the economy, reforms of state-owned companies, upgrade the public administration and promote e-administration, a statement said.
