Serbian-Azeri road construction project starts
Serbian Traffic and Infrastructure Minister Zorana Mihajlovic chaired the first meeting of a working group charged with building a highway in western Serbia, the ministry said in a press release on Monday.
The meeting was attended by Azerbaijan’s Ambassador in Belgrade Eldar Hasanov because the road will be built by Azeri company Azvirt. The ambassador said that his government has decided to approve a 210 million Euro loan to Serbia for the project whose construction is due to >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << start in 2019.
Mihajlovic is quoted as saying that the 80 kilometres of the Ruma-Sabac-Loznica road is greatly important to Serbia, adding that the financing agreement and plans for the road will be completed soon.
She said the project is part of agreements reached by the presidents of Serbia and Azerbaijan.
The two countries signed an agreement on economic and technological cooperation in 2012.
