Montenegro raises all fuel prices

All fuel prices have been raised in Montenegro, Podgorica daily Vijesti reported on Tuesday, adding that the country now has prices higher than most countries in the region and than some of the richer European Union member states.

According to the daily, fuel prices were raised by three to seven Euro cents a liter, depending on fuel type. Montenegro uses the Euro as its national currency.

Vijesti specified that the price of Eurodiesel is 1.30 Euro a litre which makes >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << it 20 Euro cents more expensive than in Bosnia and equals the price in Slovenia where average salaries are much higher. Eurodiesel prices are also lower in Luxembourg, Germany and Austria. A litre of Super 98 octane petrol now costs 1.44 Euro which is 29 Euro cents more than in Bosnia and 11 cents more than in Serbia, nine cents higher than in Slovenia and 25 Euro cents higher than in Luxembourg.

The Montenegrin government has set duties on fuel at 45 to 65 percent of the retail prices. Vijesti said that the new prices will remain in place over the next two weeks when they will be brought in line with stock market prices and the Euro and Dollar exchange rates.
