Corn harvest good, Serbian farmers unhappy with price
Serbian farmers will have a good corn harvest this year, totalling some 7.2 million tonnes but the price of 14-15 Dinars (1 Euro = about 119 Dinars) a kilogram is too low and not expected to rise this year, the head of a wheat exporters’ organization said on Tuesday.

Savkovic said he expects 2.5 million tonnes of this year’s harvest to be set aside for export, adding that 4.1 million tonnes will meet domestic needs. The remaining 500,000 tonnes will be put in storage, he added.
Farmers said this year’s price is a catastrophe for them, adding that they took losses on their sunflower and wheat crops.
