Teacher’s strike across Serbia
Four Serbian teachers’ unions have said that strikes were organized in more than 1,000 schools across the country on Wednesday.
The teachers are striking by cutting short classes from the customary 45 minutes to 30 minutes which the law allows them to do. The unions said another strike over their demand to be classified in a higher pay grade would be held on Tuesday, September 11.
The unions said they expect to be invited to negotiate with the government about the pay grades.
