Twitter clenches on spambots
The Tweeter said on Wednesday it would take a range of actions to bolster efforts in fighting spam and “malicious automation” (bad bots) on its platform.
The social network would ask new users for their e-mail addresses or phone numbers as an additional measure to prevent misuse.
The measures also include running a historical audit to catch spammers who signed up when its systems were laxer and taking a more proactive approach to identifying spam activity to reduce >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << its ability to make an impact.
New rules will take effect this year and will not endanger the activities of new users, Tweeter said.
“It is an important change for the protection of users’ privacy,” Del Harvey and Yoel Roth, Tweeter security officials added.
