No milk and newspapers from Serbia in Kosovo
Kosovo’s decision to raise import tariffs to 100 percent on goods from Serbia takes effect since milk, and daily papers haven’t reached the local Serbs in northern Mitrovica, where they make a majority of the population, the KosSev website reported on Thursday,
Some newsstands still carry weekly and monthly editions of newspapers from Belgrade, while in some stores milk from reserve could yet be bought at the old price.
At the same time, the trade inspectors >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << have been removing all the products from the south of Kosovo labelled either “Kosovo and Metohija” (the Serb name for Kosovo) or “Kosovo/UNMIK” (the UN administration).
The lorries carrying dairy products have been at the border crossing since Wednesday when the Kosovo Government announced the decision to increase the customs duties.
The KosSev cited some Albanian media reporting that in Kacanik, a town in southern Kosovo, people were burning the goods from Serbia and filming the action.
