Mogherini: next Vucic-Thaci meeting later this month
European Union High Representative Federica Mogherini said on Friday that she will schedule a meeting with the presidents of Kosovo and Serbia for later this month prior to the UN General Assembly session in the last week of September.
“I will convene in Brussels the next high level session of the dialogue before the Ministerial week of the UN General Assembly to bring the two sides together to advance the work on the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << content of the agreement,” Mogherini said in a statement.
Mogherini also voiced the conviction that Presidents Aleksandar Vucic and Hashim Thaci would continue the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue and would reach a legally binding agreement to normalize relations. “Difficulties remain. I trust the full commitment of both Presidents to continue the process and reach in the coming months a legally binding agreement on comprehensive normalisation of relations, in line with international law,” her statement said.
Vucic and Thaci were scheduled to meet and continue their top-level talks in Brussels on Friday but the Serbian president decided to meet only with the EU’s top diplomat and not with Thaci following an exchange of heated statements between officials in Belgrade and Pristina prior to his scheduled visit to Kosovo.
