Kosovo Security Forces ready to become military
The Kosovo Security Forces are ready to transform into a military and become part of Partnership for Peace and NATO, Prime Minister Ramush Haradinaj said on Tuesday.
Kosovo is determined to be a partner to NATO in politics, the economy and security, Haradinaj told a NATO Advisory and Liaison >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Team (NALT) change of command ceremony. “We are confirming that we are prepared for the transition of our forces, we are ready to be part of Partnership for Peace and not just Partnership for Peace. We want to join NATO,” the prime minister said.
“We have learned the importance of securing peace and are sworn to live in peace with everyone in Kosovo, Serbs, Ashkali, Roma, Egyptians, Bosniaks, Gorani and our neighbours,” Haradinaj said adding that it’s time for Kosovo to contribute to security.
Official Belgrade and the leading Kosovo Serb party Serb List are opposed to the transformation of the Kosovo Security Forces into a military force while the international community is insisting on changes to the constitution.
