Zašto da mala deca jedina uživaju u slatkom komforu i mirnom njihanju kolevke? Ovo je verovatno retoričko pitanje koje je pokrenulo ideju o stvaranju kolevku za odrasle. Ričard Klarkson u saradnji sa Grace Emmanual, Brodie Campbell, Jeremy Broker, Eamon Moore, Kahlivia Russell i Joya Boerrigter je ideju nekih odraslih da uvek ostanu dete podigao na drugi nivo. Prema idejnim tvoricma, "Kolevka je stvaranje sigurnog, udobnog i opuštajućeg okruženja u kome korisnik može doživeti prekomernu stimulaciju svojih čula.
