Serbia's minister asks for responsible statements
Jadranka Joksimovic, Serbia’s Minister for European Integrations said she told an international gathering on Tuesday, that Serbia was committed to the regional cooperation, but called everyone to make more responsible statements.
"I reiterated that Serbia’s position was clear and committed to good, constructive cooperation in the region, but that that did not depend on us only," Belgrade-based Beta news agency quoting her as saying of the summit of the South-East European >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Cooperation Process (SEECP) held in the Slovenian mountain resort of Brdo Pri Kranju.
"We called upon everyone to be more responsible when giving statements,” Joksimovic added, according to Beta.
N1 Zagreb earlier reported that Joskimovic refused to give them a statement, saying it’s her choice who she would talk to.
She said Serbia participated in all regional initiatives, with “completely founded expectations that all arrangements regarding representation would be honoured”, above all regarding Pristina’s participation, Beta reported.
Belgrade is generally opposed to any sign of Kosovo’s statehood being seen at the international gatherings.
In the meantime, the main topics on the agenda of the SEECP summit were the enlargement of the European Union, security, prospects for the region's youth, and the digital transformation of society.
