Serbian PM says economy no longer obliged to use seals
Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said on Monday that businesses in Serbia no longer have an obligation to use seals on paper documents.
Speaking at an exhibition of seals prior to an e-business conference, Brnabic expressed the hope that her government will submit a draft law on electronic archives to parliament by the end of the year.
She said the state administration will continue using seals on paper for some time but added that the important thing is that the economy has >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << been freed of that burden under the law on companies which says that no one can impose the obligation of using seals on the economy through any regulation. E-administration is important for competitiveness and is a priority of the Serbian government, Brnabic said.
The prime minister called business people to report anyone who demands the use of a seal to a specially set up e-mail address and announced the setting up of a call centre as of November 1.
Brnabic said that starter businesses (entrepreneurs and employers with a staff of up to 9 people) will be freed of paying taxes on wages and social security dues for their first year.
British Ambassador in Serbia Dennis Keefe said that his embassy and the UK government had contributed to the development of e-administration in Serbia, adding that projects worth 12.5 million Euros had been approved through a special fund.
