Opposition leader to President: Lower the excise tax
The government should lower the excise tax instead of insulting people, said one of the leaders of Serbia’s opposition, Dragan Djilas, reacting to the President’s claim that the Friday protest over fuel prices was organised by the opposition.
Serbia’s Aleksandar Vucic said on Sunday that the opposition was behind the blocking of the streets over high fuel prices.
"Vucic, lower the excise tax and stop this robbery instead of dragging everyone who dares to protest >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << against your policies through the mud. And stop insulting people,” Djilas tweeted.
"That’s not how a president should behave. You are an embarrasing the country and us," the tweet said.
The right-wing "Dveri Movement" also criticized Vucic over his statement, saying that it will sue anyone who lies or slanders the political party.
