Memorial service for Storm Operation victims in Belgrade
A memorial service for the victims of Croatia’s military Storm Operation from 1995 was served on Saturday in the Saint Mark’s Church in Belgrade.
According to the Commissariat for Refugees and Migrations, more than 2,000 were either killed or went missing during the Storm Operation, which had started on August 4, 1995 in cooperation of the Croatian Army and Police as well as the forces of the Croat Defence Council in the Croatia's regions of Banija, Kordun, Lika and the northern >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Dalmatia.
A day later, Croatian Army entered the town of Knin and installed the flag of Croatia as the convoys of refugees were leaving towards Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
According to the Commissariat, 610,000 Serbs from Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina found a shelter in Serbia during the 1990s war and only during the Storm more than 200,000 Serbs were forced to leave their homes.
