Croatian singer caught up in row over navy ship

A Croatian singer has been forced to cancel a concert in Montenegro after being caught up in a diplomatic dispute over a Yugoslav navy ship, the FoNet news agency reported on Tuesday.

Pop singer Ivana Vrdoljak - Vanna canceled the concert planned on the deck of the Jadran school ship which was moved to Montenegro from the Croatian port of Split at the start of the war in the former Yugoslavia.

Official Zagreb is demanding the return of the sail ship, claiming that the >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << Yugoslav Navy stole it from its berth in Split in 1991. The Croatian authorities pressured Vanna into canceling the concert in the port of Tivat, Montenegrin and Croatian media reported.

In a telephone statement to N1, Vanna confirmed that the concert on the deck of the Jadran has been cancelled.

Podgorica daily Vijesti reported that the concert, her third in Montenegro, had been moved to a hotel in the resort of Budva.
