Fari studied music since a child. After Uni she went to a central Indian music academy for a year of Indian classical vocal, sarod & the science of yoga.
Fari's been part of experimental sound collective: ResonanceFM for 5 years, producing CDs, radio show one-offs & acclaimed radio series Six Pillars to Persia, plus live radio events. She builds laptop sound live in various styles from soundscaping to Djing to mash ups such as Chinese folk trance or Hindi bizarre.
Gigs range from private parties at the Barbican & Truman Brewery to public at the ICA, Thames Festival, Fawsley Fair, Asian Mela-London.
Fari's performed Indian classical with harmonium & laptop drum & bass while singing ancient ragaas at Bestival, Big Green Gathering, V Festival & Corsica Arts Studios.
Commissions include film soundscapes for The World Health Organisation, radio shows for The British Council, podcasts for industry events, sound art commissions for ResonanceFM at the Frieze art fair on Yoko Ono's public lecture, or poetry soundscapes for local groups.
Fari's into circuit bending, using this in the Indian classical and electronic experiments that she's performed at Barbican, Bestival, V Festival, Big Green Gathering, Thames Festival, live in art galleries in USA for the CD launch of &Women Take Back the Noise' (WTBTN features 2 of her hand crafted sound art tracks). Fari produced the CD 'Art's Content' for Resonancefm: improvised pieces alongside slide guitarist BJ Cole, The legendary Hand of Glory.
