Nick Vujicic visited “Iskra“
During the visit to Kragujevac today, most famous motivational speaker Nick Vujicic visited “Iskra“ future Sport and Rehabilitation Centre for the disabled financed by the Delta Holding.
I am very happy to have visited “Iskra“ and had the opportunity to see how society helps the disabled, at the same time I wish to express my gratefulness to the Delta Foundation that supported my visit. I am especially happy to see that the Serbs assist the Serbs and that I have witnessed >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu Kragujevac.rs << the construction of the premises that will, I am sure, be of help to many and give good example to future generations, said Nick Vujicic. I visited number of such sport centers in America and they all operate very successfully, but they are not easy maintained. We know that we cannot help all, but we do our best to help many – that is a vision of all of us that participate in the construction of this Centre, added Vujicic.
Sport and Rehabilitation Centre for the disabled is to cover 600 m square, completely adapted architectonically with no barriers, tactile paths included, Braille signs, adequate changing rooms and the capacity for 88 users. Rehabilitation space capacity is for 21, accommodation capacity for 15 and multi-functional for up to 52 persons.
Before our “Iskra“ even opened the doors for the guests and users we are honored by the visit of the today’s most famous motivational speaker Nick Vujicic that is very significant for us and stands for the best verification of our just idea and the effort of both Foundation and the City that provides institutional support, said Goran Nikolic, General Secretary of Paralympics Academy “Junior“ who gave the initiative for the construction of the building.
The City of Kragujevac provided the site and complete infrastructure while Delta Holding invested 600.000 Euros into the construction of the second foundation where the disabled will be able to practice sport, rehabilitate, socialize and prepare for the major sport competitions.
This space will be open for everyone in the city, not only Paralympics. For Paralympics this means life, sport, recreation, training new medals for victories and complete inclusion, for sport activities are crucial for them as well as their families, said Dr Gordana Damljanovic, Member of the City Health Care City Council. Visit of Nick Vujicic to Kragujevac and the future “Iskra“ Centre is of great importance for the disabled and all of us because it stresses the significance of the belief and motivation in coping with hardships. The finalization of the construction of ‘Iskra“ is expected in a month.
