Young doctors leaving Kosovo
Medical organizations and MPs have expressed concern over the fact that almost 100 doctors have left Kosovo over the past three months, the media in Pristina reported on Monday.
The Doctors’ Chamber and Health Care Union warned that urgent measures have to be introduced to prevent the loss of doctors while parliament Health Committee member Dr Haxhi Avduli said that the situation is the result of bad management in the health care system. “We don’t know which medical >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << specialities we need and that is costing us a lot through the loss of young doctors and because the most vital part of society is running away,” he said.
His words were echoed by the President of the Doctors’ Chamber Dr Pleurat Sejdiu and Health Care Union leader Blerim Sula.
The Kosovo Health Ministry said that a draft law has been adopted by the government, guaranteeing higher pay for health care staff.
