Serbs quit Kosovo Security Forces

Eight Serb members of the Kosovo Security Forces (KSF) have resigned under pressure from the authorities in Belgrade, Kosovo state TV (RTK) reported.

The eight Serbs were members of the KSF medical battalion, Pristina media reported, adding that they met with KSF Minister Agim Ceku and battalion commander Berat Sala who tried to convince them not to resign.

Ceku later told Klan Kosova TV that a decision >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << on the resignations would be taken by a six month deadline.

Ceku’s deputy Burim Ramadani added that the pressure from Belgrade is unacceptable. “Serbia’s pressure on the Kosovo Serbs is unacceptable. The Serb community in Kosovo incrfeasingly trusts the Kosovo institutions, including the KSF while Serbia is exerting pressure on them in a completely inappropriate and unjust manner. The KSF is a home for every community. The members of the Serb community have professional and secure careers in it,” Ramadani wrote on his Facebook pages.
