Serbia’s minister: Grave security situation in Kosovo

The security situation in Kosovo is serious and the continuous presence of the international mission there is necessary, Serbia’s Interior Minister Nebojsa Stefanovic has told the UN Secretary General Assistant Alexander Zuev on Friday but did not elaborate.

Stefanovic said that despite the fact that UN Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) was in charge of rule of law and security, at least two high-profile murders were not solved: a Seb political leader from Kosovo Oliver Ivanovic and a member of Serb Gendramerie Stevan Sindjelic.

Zaev invited his host to New York for a meeting of interior ministers and police chiefs that will be chaired by the Secretary General Antonio Guterres.
