Serbian President: Peace is the biggest virtue
Despite the difficulties and resistance, we are looking for the most favourable solution to the Kosovo issue and we are leading a realistic and responsible policy of peace and stability, Serbia’s Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said during the commemoration of the victims of the World War II Jajinci massacre.
Leading the state delegation at the commemoration of dozens of thousands of victims of the Belgrade occupation during World War II, she stressed that "Jajinci must never >> Pročitaj celu vest na sajtu N1 televizija << happen again."
"Peace is the biggest virtue which was in short supply in the Balkans," Brnabic added and noted that "Serbia is three steps ahead of its neighbours" when it comes to dealing with problems from the past.
She attended the commemoration together with representatives of the Government of Serbia, City of Belgrade, Association of Veterans of the National Liberation War of Yugoslavia, concentration camp survivors, as well as representatives of the Jewish and Roma minorities, where she laid wreaths.
The Prime Minister added that "over the course of the 20th century, Serbia was attacked by a disproportionately stronger force three times" which resulted in millions of deaths.
"Millions have died in these conflicts. What they all had in common is the fact that they defended their right to live and liberty," Brnabic said stressing that Jajinci and other places of suffering are "a school of morality" and a backbone of Serbia’s culture and identity.
